I'll never forget what I witnessed. Eliza sat on the pavement with her one year old in a stroller, holding a sign asking for help with rent and food for her three kids. When a stranger approached asking for a quarter, she didn't hesitate she offered him her own water and one of the few snacks she had left.

In that moment, I saw something rare: a mother with almost nothing, still giving to someone else in need.
