I used to care for everyone's kids while they worked. That was my purpose being there for my community. Then in what felt like seconds, I lost my partner, my mother, and my grandmother. Now it's just me and my baby boy on someone's couch, trying to figure out how to keep going.

The other day, someone knocked on the door hungry. I only had a little food left, but I gave it to them. That's just who I am even when I have nothing, I still want to help.

Right now, I'm trying to find us a safe place to call home. Somewhere my son can crawl without me worrying. Somewhere I can finally sit down and grieve without fear of where we'll sleep tomorrow.
