I Just Wanted a Hamburger What Happened Next Humbled Me

I was resting in my wagon when they walked up. I hadn't eaten all day. I didn't ask for much I never do. Just a hamburger, maybe someone to look at my broken wheel.

What they gave me was more than I expected. A hot meal. A brand new wagon. But honestly? What got me was that they stopped. They saw me.

I've been on these streets long enough to know most people walk past. So when they didn't I couldn't shake their hand. I had to hug them.

I'm not looking for pity. I'm just a man trying to get by with what I have. But I won't pretend it's hard out here. Nights are rough. Eating isn't guaranteed. I'm tired.
