I was born to a mother battling addiction and raised in the inner city after adoption. Against all odds, I became the first in my family to graduate college. Now I work as a youth program specialist in the same neighborhoods that shaped me.

Recently, when someone asked me to contribute my last few dollars to help a child in need, I didn't hesitate. Someone did that for me once. It changed everything.

I see myself in every kid I mentor the same hunger for a chance, the same need to know someone cares. A little support can change a life. It changed mine.
