I was sitting on the street, homeless and sick, when someone asked me for bus fare. I had nothing. But instead of saying no, I told them I'm homeless myself, but I'll go ask people for change so you can get on the bus.

That's who Lance is a retired CNA who spent his life caring for others. Now his health is failing, and he's living in a shelter after leaving Baltimore a month ago, hoping for a fresh start.

Lance showed me what compassion looks like when you have nothing left to give. Now he needs us to show him the same.
