When Marike stood in the ashes of her home she tried to smile because she has to believe help will come. The fire took every physical reminder of the life she built including the years with her late husband who passed away in 2021 with no life insurance. She has already learned to carry heavy loss with very little to fall back on.

Now she is raising her son alone with nowhere to go. She has proven she can handle hard things but right now they just need four walls and a roof so they can start over.
