Nagalakshmi is a twenty six year old woman who has been unable to walk since the ninth grade. Living with severe back pain she was forced to leave her education behind. Since her father passed away her mother has cared for her entirely alone.

Despite spending years confined to her home her deepest wish is simply to own a sewing machine. She wants to work earn her own living and finally give back to the mother who has sacrificed everything for her care.
