Samuel Refused Shoes But Asked For A Job

I met Samuel today, and he taught me what true dignity looks like.

He was sitting on a bench, boots falling apart. When I offered to buy him socks, he politely declined he didn't want to be a burden. Samuel hadn't eaten all day, yet his only focus was finding work. He'd been trying to get hired at a local sandwich shop and just needed help getting his foot in the door.

We sat together and filled out his application. The spark of hope in his eyes is something I'll never forget.

Samuel isn't asking for a handout he's asking for a hand up.
