I Sold Everything to Save My Wife

I'm 88 years old, and I spend eight hours a day on my feet scanning groceries. This wasn't the plan.

I did everything right worked hard, retired from GM in 1999 with what I thought was a secure pension. Then 2012 hit, bankruptcy wiped out what I'd earned, right when my wife got sick. With no health coverage, I sold our home, our property everything to care for her until she passed seven years ago.

Now I'm just trying to rebuild, working full time to survive. When people ask what I want, I tell them the truth, I just want to live somewhat of the life I was hoping for.
