Even while living in motels and mourning the loss of a wife he desperately wishes he could have saved his first instinct when he saw someone in pain was to run toward them and offer help. He lost his only mode of transportation to theft and carries a heavy burden of guilt that has strained his relationship with his daughter yet he still gives the little he has with a smile.
