She Was Waiting to Save Her Son But He Never Came

I spent years lying awake at night, praying my son would be okay out there. He was fighting mental illness and living on the streets, and I never stopped trying to reach him. I had a plan I was going to meet him at the train station, get him into a hotel, and finally get him somewhere safe.

He never showed up.

Instead, I got the call no mother should ever receive. My son died alone before I could get to him.

Now I'm living a nightmare I can't wake up from and I can't even bring his ashes home. There's an outstanding balance I simply can't afford, and until it's paid, my boy isn't with me.

All I want is the dignity of having my son home one last time.
