I met BJ in the desert, selling beautiful handmade towels under the relentless sun. When a young man admired one for his mother, she gave it to him no charge. I give away more than I get in donations, she told me with a smile that broke my heart.

She's out there every day, hoping for enough fuel money just to get home. When I asked about her biggest dream, she didn't ask for much just a safe place to live, or maybe a bigger vehicle to sleep in. That's it. Somewhere secure for her and her dog.
