I'm Cruz, a father from Honduras, and I came to this country with one dream, a better life for my son.

When a stranger offered to buy me $2 crutches for my bad knee, I couldn't hold back my tears but not for myself. All I could think about was my boy. After a terrible car accident, he's been getting around with a shopping cart and those same cheap crutches, his leg badly injured and his future uncertain.

I don't need much for myself. But watching my son struggle to walk breaks my heart every single day. He deserves to run, to play, to live without pain. He deserves the surgeries and therapy that could give him his life back treatment I simply can't afford.
