When I met David, he greeted me with a firm handshake and a warm smile even though his world is falling apart. Bipolar schizophrenia took his career. Someone stole his car. For three years, he and his girlfriend have held on in an old RV, but now city trucks have arrived to clear the encampment, and time has run out.

You can hear the worry in his voice when he talks about losing the only roof he has left. He's not asking for a lot just a chance to stay safe while he navigates his health.
