I met Dominic on Thanksgiving. He was sleeping under a sheet of plastic, trying to stay dry. He can't read or write well, and that's locked him out of so many opportunities. But here's what got me, when I offered him help, his first response was to ask if I needed the money for my own family instead.

He had nothing and still thought of others first.
