I Left Everything to Care for My Mom

I never thought I'd end up homeless. When my mother was diagnosed with cancer, I didn't hesitate I left school and moved in to care for her. But because I wasn't on the lease, my mother would have been evicted if I stayed, so I had to leave. I've been on the streets ever since.

Even now, my dream is to go back to school and become a paralegal so I can help people navigate the system that failed me. When someone recently offered me supplies, my first thought was who else needed them more. I've spent my life putting others first.
