I Had Almost Nothing, But I Still Helped a Stranger

I've been homeless for over 12 years, surviving only because good people helped me along the way. Now I receive a small monthly Social Security check due to my disability it's not much, but it's something.

Recently, when a stranger needed just one more quarter for bus fare, I didn't think twice. I used my debit card to help them on their way. That's just what you do help someone when you get the chance.

When someone tried to give me $100, I couldn't accept it. I have my monthly income now. There are others who need it more than me.

I'm still working to get stable to keep a roof over my head, food in my stomach, and manage my medical needs. If my story touches you, any help you can offer would mean the world to me. I'm just trying to do what was done for me, pass kindness forward.
