A House Fire Took Everything on My Daughter’s 10th Birthday

What should have been a happy morning celebrating my daughter’s 10th birthday turned into the worst day of our lives. An electrical fire started in our attic and quickly spread through the house. Within minutes, thick smoke was everywhere and all I could think about was getting my children out safely and praying our dog would make it too.

The firefighters arrived just in time and were able to rescue and revive our dog, but our home and everything we owned was gone.

I’m incredibly grateful my children and our dog are alive, but now we’re starting over with nothing. Friends have kindly helped with some clothes and small essentials, but we still need help finding stable housing and replacing the basic things my family needs every day.
