Peter Meagher, known to many as Marzo, was an absolute legend whose loss will be deeply felt across Sydney. He devoted his life to serving others first as a highly respected Detective Sergeant in the NSW Police Force, and then as the heart and soul of the Randwick Rugby Club, where he served tirelessly as first grade manager and former referee. On Sunday, while simply working as a freelance photographer at a community event, Peter’s life was tragically and senselessly taken an unimaginable case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The shock and devastation left behind for his family, friends, and community are immeasurable. Peter was a man of unmatched loyalty and generosity, always putting others first. Training sessions, match days, and everyday moments at the club will never feel the same without his presence.
