I'm Wayne, and three days ago I was just crossing the street when a car slammed into me at 50 miles an hour. I woke up with a broken shoulder, shattered ankle, and injuries I'm still discovering. They sent me home in borrowed scrubs with my life in a plastic bag.

When someone offered me a granola bar that first night, I tried to give it back I thought they needed it more than me. But the truth is, I have nothing. No place to heal, no way to pay for what comes next.
