That's what we heard when we visited the tunnels and riverbanks in our city. We didn't find criminals we found people with incredible resilience who just needed help making it through one more freezing night.

A sturdy tent. A warm sleeping bag. To most people, that's camping gear. To our neighbors being pushed out of sight and left to fend for themselves, it's a lifeline a small piece of safety and dignity in a world that's trying to strip both away.

When they showed up with supplies, it was the first time in a long time I felt like somebody actually saw me.
